Does cilantro detox heavy metals, and does it redistribute metals to the brain?
The one located trial gave children a cilantro extract for 14 days and found no difference versus placebo in blood lead, urine lead, or renal clearance. No human study in this corpus measured redistribution of metals to the brain, so that claim is unanswered rather than disproved. The trial is small and null.
Study
Deldar and colleagues (2008) randomized 32 children aged 3 to 7 years for 14 days. The corpus records no DOI or PMID. Journal page. Brain redistribution was not an outcome.
